John Pyle

 Associate Pastor
 Email: johnpyle@evangel4sq.com

To see the church (which means the people of the church) come to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. I want to see God's people come to maturity in Christ. I desire to see people passionate about God and the things of God. I seek to encourage the members of the body to minister to the body! I want to see people understand the Kingdom of God, and to press into Christ with all their heart, mind, soul and strength.

John first came to Evangel in the Fall of 2000 when he and his wife Janna served as interns while attending Life East Bible College. In 2003, he graduated with a Bachelors of Theology degree. John has been Internationally licensed and ordained with the ICFG since 2005. Prior to that, he received a Bachelor of Science from Liberty University and also a Juris Doctorate from Wake Forest University.

John formerly served as Associate Pastor at The Crossing in Salem, Virginia, and also as Senior Pastor at Woodland Hills Fellowship in Tulsa, OK. John and his family returned to the Roanoke area in 2012. In addition to currently serving as Associate Pastor at Evangel, John is a trial attorney with Crandall & Katt and is also an adjunct professor with Helms School of Government, Liberty University (online).

I enjoy reading, writing, and biking. I am an avid college basketball fan. I am also a former Judge Advocate in the United State Marine Corps. I am married to Janna Pyle and we recently celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary. We have one daughter, Aimee Elizabeth, who is a teenager and attends Faith Christian School. I was raised in the Forest area of Bedford County, growing up on a farm where we had horses, sheep and cattle. I loved driving John Deere tractors. I grew up in the Episcopal church, gradually began attending a Baptist Church, where I was saved, and finally received the baptism of the Holy Spirit in a Foursquare Church in Poway, California.
