Groups@Evangel
At Evangel Foursquare our vision is to
"Build People to Touch Our World". One of the primary ways we put this
vision into action is with Groups@Evangel. Through
Groups@Evangel people are encouraged to do what they already love to do,
while allowing the Holy Spirit to speak through their lifestyles,
examples and words. This provides a simple way for us to be 'salt and
light', taking Jesus outside our church walls and into our living rooms,
workplaces, and neighborhoods. Our Groups@Evangel make relationships the priority, help people
connect, and give easy access to newcomers. They provide a myriad of
opportunities to strengthen relationships within our Evangel family and
to engage our culture by encouraging those who do not yet know Jesus to
belong unconditionally before they are expected to believe or even
behave as Christians. Groups@Evangel will be diverse, groups may include fun activities
like hiking, biking, reading, recreational, sports... to those that meet
to enhance growth in areas like marriage, health, journaling... to those
that seek to minister to others. Our Groups Ministry is divided into three seasons per year (beginning
in January, April, September). We hope you will join us to help us
celebrate the beginning of our new season, get your questions answered
and receive a personal invitation to join a Group ... or maybe more! Remember, Groups@Evangel are open to everyone - whether they attend
Evangel or not - so bring your friends along. We know that they will be
blessed! Groups fall into three main types: Connect Groups: These are activity groups that include bicycling,
volleyball, softball, men’s breakfast, Evangel Women, painting, eating
together (yum!) and expressing yourself artistically. Grow Groups: These groups gather to grow in their faith,
understanding, and relationships. They meet to understand God’s Word
(the Bible) and God’s heart as they explore topics or themes that will
grow and transform lives. Some of the Growth Groups include: Home
fellowships, Bible studies, journaling, prayer gatherings, and a study
on the foundations of our faith. Serve Groups: These groups come together for the benefit of those
outside the group. These groups meet to pray and plan service
opportunities both locally and internationally. Examples of the Ministry
Groups include missions opportunities (such as short-term mission
trips), and service to the congregation and community (such as
Choir/Dance/Worship Team, ministry teams, children/youth teams). How big are the groups? Our groups range in size from just 3
people to those that have no maximum number. May I invite others to a group if they don’t attend Evangel or they
do not share our faith? Absolutely! Our groups are open and are
designed to be places where we can bring our friends. How do you choose your group leaders? Each group reflects the
passions and interests of its leader. Each leader shares a common
commitment to this larger community we call, "Evangel Foursquare Church
(Evangel)." All group leaders have attended training seminars, share our
group values, are members, and have completed a Group Leader
Application. In other words, we are confident in and excited about our
